Our Research Training Group ‘Situated Cognition’ was accepted to host a satellite workshop at the international philosophy conference of the German Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP: Gesellschaft für Analytische Philosophie) at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf on September 12, 2025. All conference information can be found here: www.gap12.de.
Information specifically pertaining to our satellite workshop can be found below.
Is situated cognition well-equipped to illuminate the full diversity of our mental phenomena? This workshop will critically probe this question by evaluating whether the notion of a situated mind can be beneficially applied to various mental domains. Our particular focus will be on what are traditionally assumed to be “inner” cognitive phenomena, which are often thought to be especially challenging for situated approaches. With our speakers, we will discuss the domains of perception, experience and imagination, including related disorders.
In order to participate during this satellite workshop, we require all our guests to be registered for this satellite workshop via our own organization team. We will then also provide them with further information about their attendance. Please send your inquiry to Rebecca Watzlawek: rwatzlawek [at] uos DOT de
