The Situated Mind: Perception, Experience, and Imagination
Satellite Workshop at the GAP.12

Abstract

Is situated cognition well-equipped to illuminate the full diversity of our mental phenomena? This workshop will critically probe this question by evaluating whether the notion of a situated mind can be beneficially applied to various mental domains. Our particular focus will be on what are traditionally assumed to be “inner” cognitive phenomena, which are often thought to be especially challenging for situated approaches. With our speakers, we will discuss the domains of perception, experience and imagination, including related disorders.
